The Pied Butcherbird is considered by many as the best singer of Australia's birds. They are an aggressive feeder who prey on small reptiles, mammals, frogs, birds and even large insects. The name Butcherbird comes from their habit of hanging captured prey on a hook or in a tree fork. This method is used to support the victim while it is being eaten, to store several victims or to attract mates. EXIF: Canon EOS 300D : 1/400 : f7.1 : 400mm : ISO 100
