Not sure of the name of this Skink species, but he was quite large (around 35 cm in length) and was photographed last week while I was at Cocoparra National Park. I thought it was only fitting to post a reptile photo today after hearing the sad news that Steve Irwin, also known as the Crocodile Hunter, died yesterday in a diving accident. Steve was a real Aussie icon and had such an amazing passion for wildlife (especially reptiles) and environmental conservation. I'm sure he will be missed not only in Australia but around the world - this one's for you mate. EXIF: Canon EOS 30D : 1/500 sec : f 7.1 : 260 mm : ISO 100
