While at Campbells Swamp yesterday I came across this Snake-necked Turtle (Chelodina longicollis). At first he quickly hid inside his shell when he saw me coming, but after waiting a good five minutes he eventually emerged and continued on his way to the nearest water. As you can see in the photo, the poor little guy was missing his right eye - maybe he got in a fight with one of the water birds that inhabit the swamp!
