The Murray Turtle, also known as the Murray Short-Necked Turtle, is restricted to the Murray-Darling River system in southeastern Australia and inhabits larger rivers and permanent lakes in this region. They feed mostly on molluscs, crustaceans and vegetable matter such as fruits and water plants. I photographed this turtle while in Deniliquin, NSW.
